New Year, New Challenge

Happy New Year everyone!!

My first challenge this year is taking part in Darcy's Artful Readers Club.

We have to choose 12 books for the year, one for each month - the intention being to  post a review of the book we've read (by the end of the month) and also to produce a piece of art work inspired by the book.

Here are my 12....from the pile of at least 50 books beside my bed...I read a LOT but have been using my Kindle whilst still buying hardbacks of my favourite authors.....I decided I had to do something when the latest "Scarpetta" arrived and I realised I had the two previous books still to read....

And here is the book I've chosen to read first:

"Le Champ du Potier" by Andrea Camilleri.

Camilleri is Italian and his books are written in Italian with a large pinch of Sicilian dialect. My copy is in French (sadly I don't speak or read Italian).....why French you ask? Well....I have a problem with the English translations...they're done by an American who has used the Bronx as Sicily.....and they just don't read right.

Follow the link above if you'd like to join in with this challenge!

Oh, in French? I won't dare... Maybe just a children's book and that's all I can grasp of that difficult language. Looking forward to the reviews! Good luck! ♥

I have quite a few Patricia Cornwell books, one is on my list. I haven't read any from your list, not hear of most of them, so looking forward to the reviews.

Ooooooh getchoo! Showing us all up and reading in French... I have what I highly suspect is a children's book on my list, about as good as it gets with me ;)

Will be interested what you think of the new JK Roewling, am undecided if I fancy it or not.

Oh I could read that book too - I wouldn't have a clue what it said but I could read it LOL. An Italian book translated to French because the American couldn't turn it to English mmmmmmmmmmm I await your review of how good the French translation is. And someone else reading JK Rowlings book - yay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My first book is proving an interesting read!

Don't know any of these, though I have a feeling I have read a Paretsky book some time.
It's so good to see the wide range of books on the booklists, and to note down ones to think of buying. Looking forward to the reviews and artwork.
